“The product during the last 12 months that’s really blitzing them is called ‘hybrid’,” says Northside’s Ron May.
“It’s a wood-plastic composite. It’s completely waterproof, very tough and hard wearing.
“It’s quiet to walk on, warm to walk on and is perfect for families with kids and pets.”
Ron’s excitement at the new technology is evident.
“You drop a can of baked beans on a timber floor and you will dent it,” he says.
“Drop a can of baked beans on a ceramic tile floor and you’ll chip or damage it.
“But drop it on this, and it won’t even scratch the surface. It’s so high-impact resilient. They’re tough, they look better and they’re easier to maintain.”
With showrooms at North Geelong and Hoppers Crossing, Northside Carpet Court also offers amazing installation services.
“We pick good-quality tradies who deliver good-quality work,” Ron says.
Carpet technology has also come a long way.
A new style of carpet is practically unstainable. It’s called Solution Dyed Nylon or affectionately known as SDN.
“You can drop undiluted household bleach on this and it won’t even change colour,” Ron says.
Of course, customer service is still high on the agenda at Northside Carpet Court.
“We’ve been going for 41 years and are family operated and owned,” Ron says.
“We take a lot of pride in delivering the best customer service around.
