Warralily continues to move from success to success with sales for the first half of the year exceeding expectations and the first three stages in the new central neighbourhood selling out in just three months. This comes off the back of a number of exciting milestones being delivered in 2017 that will take Warralily from a growing community to an established suburb.
Soon the Warralily community will enjoy their own local shopping village that will become the heart of community life. Scheduled to open this spring, all civil works are complete and construction of the shopping centre is now well underway.
The $100 million Warralily will deliver a 4000 square metre Woolworths and BWS. According to Woolworth’s regional property manager John Robinson, the supermarket will be cutting edge in design, and provide much-needed employment.
“The store will also create more than 120 new local job opportunities, including fulltime, part- time and casual roles,” he said.
An Aldi supermarket, 7-Eleven and McDonalds will further boost local job opportunities alongside specialty stores, a medical and dental practice, pharmacy, a gym and food outlets. The shopping hub is also conveniently located next to the state-of-the-art Armstrong Creek Education Precinct, sports precinct, Bluebird Early Education and a child and maternal healthcare centre.
The Armstrong Creek Education precinct construction is well advanced and scheduled to be completed before the end of the year for the official school opening in term one 2018.
The precinct will provide modern facilities for mainstream Prep-Year 6 and special education Prep-Year 12 co-located schools. The first-class facilities will include an indoor gym to Netball Victoria standards, outdoor hardcourts and sporting ovals, embedded environmentally sustainability education and sensory gardens.
What’s more, the Armstrong Creek Education Precinct will be run as multi-purpose space where after school care and community programs will be offered to broader community. Future expansion of the education precinct will include the relocation of Oberon High to the secondary campus in 2021.
The community was pleased to see the completion of the 4.2km Warralily Boulevard and associated foot and cycle paths, that provide a vital connection for the 5000-strong Warralily residents from Barwon Heads Road through to the Surf Coast Highway. With the completion of these major milestones in 2017 it’s a real coming of age for Armstrong Creek’s first and largest master-planned community.
A total of 50 per cent of the urban coastal estate has been sold, with 1800 homes now occupied. When completed in 2024, Warralily will boast a population of 15,000 people.
